What if you could majestically and confidently preside over the kingdom of your life?
This is the question that kept rolling around in my awareness when I visited The Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Grand Palace is an iconic presence in Bangkok as it sits in the heart of the city.
Not only is it beautiful and intricate in its design, it is also one of Thailand’s most sacred sites. The Palace is not made up of a single structure. It has numerous buildings, halls, gardens and courtyards that stretch over 2,000,000 sq. ft. It is a working Palace, not just a tourist attraction.
As I strolled around admiring the Palace, being preset with all of the energies, I became aware of all of the people that work together to care for the Palace and the city. From the King and Queen of Thailand to The Court, The Royal Government, the workers, the gardeners, and the people of Thailand. Everyone, as well as the Palace itself, in communion exuding Majesty over the City of Bangkok.
All of this reminded me of the majesty, greatness and miraculous innate wisdom of our bodies. Did you know that from the moment your body is conceived, every molecule, cell, and organ knows exactly what it’s going to do for your body for the rest of your body’s life? For the rest your life?
As you sit here reading this, your body is breathing, your heart is pumping, your blood is circulating, your lungs are expanding and contracting. This is the innate brilliance of your body. You don’t actually have to DO anything…just as the Grand Palace was BEING while all of us visitors were admiring it.
Have you ever admired the greatness of you and your body?
Would you be willing to include your body’s innate wisdom in your life?
When you acknowledge the greatness of having a body and you begin to include your body in your life, you will develop more confidence, have higher self-esteem and more joy. You and your body will move and be in the world in a totally different way.
I want to share with you three easy tools that you can start using today to have a greater connection with your body:
TOOL #1: BEING GRATEFUL FOR YOUR BODY!
A lot of us spend a lot of time judging our bodies and judging ourselves. I did that myself for a very long time. I was so disconnected from my body that I was not aware of my body at all.
Have you ever stubbed your toe, broken a bone or injured some part of your body? Did you become aware of how much you were taking that part of your body for granted? Now that you couldn’t use it, you realize how much you were using it!
Just as with the Grand Palace and the people of Bangkok, your whole body works together, in communion, with you for your life.
Would you be willing to take a moment now and be grateful for all your body is being for you?
Allow your body to take a few deep breaths, be present with him or her and say:
“Thank you body. Thank you for being on this journey with me and for being here with me. I wonder what grand and glorious adventures we can create together?!”
TOOL #2: MOVE YOUR BODY!
How does your body desire to move today?
Maybe your body would like to go dancing.
Maybe your body would like to go for a long walk in nature.
Maybe your body would like to go for a run.
Maybe your body would like to go for a swim.
Maybe your body would like to play hide and seek.
How does your body desire to move?
Have you asked him or her lately?
What else is possible with your body and movement that you haven’t imagined yet?
TOOL #3: FOLLOW THE ENERGY
Once you begin to ask your body questions and include him/her in your life, you’ll want to follow the energy. How do you do that?
What is light and expansive is true for you.
What is heavy and a contraction is not true for you.
Tune into the sensations your body is having to begin getting to know the language of your body.
Your body is communicating with you ALL the time through your senses.
